Anchorage’s annual Garden Fair & Art Show is in its 14th year, celebrating plants, music, food, and art on June 11th and 12th at the Alaska Botanical Garden. On June 9th, the Midsummer Gala in the Garden draws visitors for an evening of fund raising amidst freshly tended gardens, fine food and wine, and music and art. Attendees take a sneak preview of the Garden Art Show, too. For visitors and Anchorage residents, the price of a to the Gala achieves more than an evening of enjoyment: this is a highly important fundraiser for the Alaska Botanical Garden. Take a look at the Master Plan to see why financial support is valuable!
Plan to attend on the Gala on Thursday 5:30 – 8:30 pm. Families with kids, please call ahead for reservations so that the program for those aged 3 – 11 can plan appropriately. For an adult, a ticket may be purchased ahead of time or at the door for $50. Contact the ABG for details at 907-770-3692.
The weekend Garden Fair requires entry at $5.00 advanced purchase or $7.00 per person (those under 2 are guests, gratis) at the gate. Plan to make some purchases of garden gear, plants, foods, jewelry, ceramics, textile art, and other items or services, as you will see unique creations. All products sold at Garden Fair must relate to the “botanical” or “horticultural” theme in some way.
And as long-time ABG fans will tell you, plan to use the free shuttle service from the nearby Alaska Club (Tudor Rd) or Alaska Housing (42nd and Boniface) or walk from Chugach Square (Tudor and Patterson) where the parking is also free. Parking near to the ABG is closed for this event so that safety and controlled traffic make the day stress-free.
The Alaska Botanical Garden is located at 4601 Campbell Airstrip Road, off Tudor Rd.

Hello. The Alaska Botanical Garden is also a great sight seeing trip for out-of-town guests and tourists. It's a special place to take something unique back home from Alaska. And, don't forget photo shoots galore. What a wonderful way to spend a morning or afternoon.Rosella Young, AA-1 Designs, Longaberger Consultant-Invest in yourself!
