The Alaska Botanical Garden is an independent nonprofit living museum designed to showcase the beauty and value of Alaska’s gardens and natural areas through science, education, and recreation. Cultivated gardens are woven throughout a spruce and birch forest. In summer, you can find hardy perennials, Gold Medal peonies, alpine plants, herbs, vegetables, and more to admire. With over 1,000 species of hardy perennials and 150 native plant species, ABG is a wonderful place to experience Alaska’s growing season. Explore the 1.5-mile Lowenfels-Hoersting Family Nature Trail with interpretive signage. Our Gift Shop has Alaskan-made gifts, books, shirts, and snacks.
